Daedalic and Telltale bring Tales of Monkey Island™ to German-speaking territories

Set sail for adventure – German publisher Daedalic Entertainment and digital entertainment pioneer Telltale Games, will bring Tales of Monkey Island™, the latest entry in the legendary Monkey Island franchise, to retail in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. The adventure game from the makers of Sam & Max, Wallace & Gromit’s Grand Adventures and Strong Bad’s Cool Game for Attractive People will for the first time be released with complete German voice localization.

In Tales of Monkey Island, hapless pirate Guybrush Threepwood embarks on a quest to find the voodoo exfoliating artifact, La Esponja Grande, after accidentally releasing the Pox of LeChuck on the Caribbean's unsuspecting population (and his wife, Elaine). Along the way, Guybrush fends off a relentless pirate hunter, matches wits with a malicious marquis, overcomes fearsome foes with sabers at sea, and is nearly digested by a giant manatee while hunting down the pox-eliminating sponge.

Tales of Monkey Island unfolds over five chapters with each raising the stakes on Guybrush Threepwood's quest to eradicate the insidious Pox of LeChuck, reunite with his wife and vanquish his arch rival.

Members of the Tales of Monkey Island design team include Dave Grossman, one of the franchise's original designers and writers, Mike Stemmle, co-designer and director of 2001's Escape from Monkey Island, designer Mark Darin (Nick Bounty, Sam & Max), and composer Michael Land (The Secret of Monkey Island, Monkey Island™ 2: LeChuck’s Revenge™), as well as an outstanding team of artists, designers and developers.

Carsten Fichtelmann, Managing Director of Daedalic: ”As fans of Monkey Island from the very first day, we couldn’t be happier to be taking our partnership with Telltale to the next level, as we steer Tales of Monkey Island to retail in the German-speaking territories.”

James Lamorticelli, VP of Publishing at Telltale Games: “Tales of Monkey Island is the second German localized series between Telltale and Daedalic and our partnership is really gaining momentum. We're very pleased with the start we're off to, and look forward to building to greater heights with the popular Monkey Island franchise.”

The PC-DVD adventure game ”Tales of Monkey Island“ will be available in Germany, Austria and Switzerland at retail from October 26, 2010.

Swords & Soldiers: Daedalic to bring acclaimed RTS to PC in German-speaking Territories

Daedalic Entertainment and developer Ronimo Games are bringing the hit console game Swords & Soldiers to the PC in an all-new, enhanced version, including for the first time high-resolution HD graphics and online multiplayer. The outrageous mix of cartoon visuals and real-time strategy gameplay enjoyed runaway success on console, winning numerous awards and excellent review scores.

"We are thrilled to be adding such an outstanding game as Swords & Soldiers to our publishing portfolio. With its insanely funny humor, brilliant gameplay and detailed 2D cartoon graphics, it is a perfect addition to our lineup,” said Carsten Fichtelmann, Managing Director of Daedalic Entertainment.

"After clearly demonstrating that RTS games can work great on consoles, we're now returning Swords & Soldiers to the platform where it all started, the PC," said Fabian Akker, Game Designer and Co-Founder of Ronimo Games, "We're excited to offer PC gamers a light-hearted and fast-paced twist on the gameplay they know and love."

The brutish Vikings, the artful Aztecs and the cunning Chinese face each other in three relentless campaigns for domination. Honor and glory are on the line, as they seek to wipe each other off the map. Leading one of the three factions into battle, the player also unlocks additional challenges. More than 20 achievements and an all-new multiplayer mode add enormous replayability.

Using the easy-to-learn and lighting-fast controls, the player sends his minions to collect gold from the mines, investing the takings into new units and spells. The newly trained warriors automatically head for the enemy camp, fiercely attacking everything in their path. The player uses an arsenal of offensive and defensive spells such as thunderbolts, blizzards or healing to support his troops in battle. Each of the three factions brings their own special spells and units to the table, so finding the right strategy to deal with the enemy forces is imperative.

Daedalic will publish Swords & Soldiers in a localized German version in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. The outrageous RTS will be available everywhere for the PC from August 31 for the SRP of € 19,99.
