German publisher and developer Daedalic Entertainment and Czech studio Amanita Design have extended their succesful partnership. Daedalic will be the exclusive publisher of Botanicula, the new title from the makers of Machinarium, in most major European territories.
Telling a wonderful story without words is the great art of Amanita Design. Botanicula takes the player to a fairy-tale world of plants, where he helps five tree creatures on a quest to save their home’s last seed from a pack of evil parasites. Each of the five protagonists has unique skills, which have to be combined in many different ways throughout the game. The lovingly hand-crafted point & click adventure allows the player to interact with their surroundings to often surprising effect. Atmospheric music and sounds from the Czech band Dva underscore the fantastic experience.
„We are connected to Amanita Design through an excellent partnership that we are thrilled to continue with the publishing of Botanicula. The great sales success of Machinarium, both on digital platform and at traditional retail, has shown what great things we can achieve together”, commented Carsten Fichtelmann, Managing Director of Daedalic Entertainment.
"It's very difficult to find a reliable and professional publishing partner especially for an adventure game nowadays. Daedalic Entertainment is not only a very reliable and professional company but working with them has always been a pleasure. We are sure our next game Botanicula is in very good hands with them," said Jakub Dvorsky, head and founder of Amanita Design.
The adventure game Botanicula will be released in Q1 of 2012 for Windows PC and Mac. Daedalic is licensed to publish the title in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, Scandinavia, Benelux, France, Spain, Portugal, Italy and Greece.
